Writing Poetry The Very Hot Day - This is a children's story about Joshy being bored on a hot day and asking his two mums if he and his puppy can run through the sprinkler. Written July 11 2006. Added September 19 2006. The Vampire's Apprentice - This poem is about being the victim of a vampire and choosing to become one as well. Written Jan 26 2003, added Feb 6 2003 Something Less - This one was inspired by the knowledge that a friend of a friend was thinking of committing suicide. Written Jan 10 2003, Added Feb 6 2003 If You Were There - A horror story, told in rhyme, and kinda funny. =) (Added Jan 9 2003) Come Closer, Vampire - This one is about sharing a campfire with a vampire and negotiating for protection. (Added Jan 7 2003) Glass Heart - Sad, a-relationship-just-ended kind of poem, that rhymes and is structured. Inspired by Anay's Glass Heart poem (Added Jan 4 2003) Only Me (Superman Poem) - Superman's point of view. It rhymes and stuff, and Superman is kinda sad. Inspired by Anay's Superman poem (Added Jan 4 2003) There Was an Old Demon (The Buffy Nursary Rhyme) - There was a challenge on a forum to write a Buffy nursary rhyme, and this was my response. It's about how Buffy and Spike started wanting each other during the episode "Something Blue", when a spell was cast to make them want to get married. You might have to have seen the show to get it. (Added June 12, 2002) Two Roads (Polyamory) - I read in early 2002 on the internet about polyamory, where someone has multiple long-term romantic partners, and they're in love with all of them. I wrote this about it. (Added June 12, 2002) A Black Plane at Sunset - A guy I used to know over the internet, ApocalypseWatcher47, had a dream one night about a black plane landing during sunset, and the whole thing was completely silent, so I wrote a poem about it. The Poe Who Was Befriended - An incredibly silly, written-for-children-style poem about poes, which are fictional, and kinda like gophers. This poem has really fun structure and rhymes in random places, and is fun to read out loud. It's pretty much based on this Canada Film Board cartoon about these two quarrelling gophers (I forget the title). Don't ask why they're called poes, it came to me in a dream. =) Halfsoul (The Vengeful God) - A silly myth about where soulmates come from. It rhymes and is very structured. (Part of it could be interpreted as me saying only straight people can have soulmates, but please don't interpret it like that. This doesn't reflect my beliefs; it's kind of a parody of real myths and legends.) =) Beauty - A little dialogue about finding beauty in any situation. The Perfect Girl - Inspired by Spike and Buffy. =)
